-I made a carbon copy clone of my mbp lion startup disk on a seagate goflex 2tb.

-System preferences recognizes the seagate as a boot volume, but when i select it and hit restart it starts with my system disk not the boot volume?

-Also, the boot volume also does not show up when i start holding the option key.

Has anyone had this issue or know what to do to make it work?:apple:

Two possibilities: either the drive itself is bad or failing, or your settings for the backup were not correct.

This can happen when the NVRAM file is corrupted (this file holds the startup disk infos).

    Try reseting the NVRAM.
