I just got a Macbook Pro, (second hand) and upon my first attempt to play a music CD it loaded into the slot fine enough but then failed to read at all, did not show up in iTunes nor the desktop nor to the left of the finder folder. I've tried ejecting the usual way, and through iTunes, by restarting while holding down the trackpad button, also through Disk Utility and through the Mac's very own suggested method of loading the firmware at the beginning (which won't even load, not by the instructions the Help article gave me.)

I've contacted the previous owner to see if he has any clue, but he has yet to respond and I'm getting impatient. Any ideas?

in order to get it out, you can use a small piece or cardboard or a "spudger" to fish around inside and slide the disk out, i have had success removing stuck discs that way

if its a double-sided music CD it is too thick for the superdrive.
