cd open-y thing on emac wont work

my cd drive wont open

itunes doesnt reconize a driver

when i went to "about my computer" it didnt show the driver

what the hell happened?

Did the computer recently get moved? It is possible the cable came loose, however unlikely.

Will it open if you restart the computer holding down the mouse button? If it will it may be a software issue.
