CD Player not playing all CDs

24" inch imac, purchased around 12/26/07. CD player does not appear to be recogniing HDCD's, but is playing most others ok. Any suggestions?
 
I don't know what to say. HDCDs are backwards compatible, they should work fine. Do they pop up on the desktop, or are they not even mounted at all?
