I noticed that Pharrell stopped wearing his custom Apple Watch Edition on the Voice. I guess that contract ended...

On the show called The Player.. Cassandra King played by Charity Wakefield had one on..

she's had it on for the last 3-4 weeks/episodes now! I've decided (because I care! haha!) that it's her own personal watch and she wants to get the fitness achievements! so they allow her to wear it as part of her wardrobe!

of course I could be way off and it could be product placement and I really shouldn't care... but I do! (I'm going to watch for other apple products next show to see if it could be product placement vs personal!)

Stephen Colbert only wore his Watch the week Tim Cook was on the show. He has not worn it before or since, preferring instead to wear traditional wristwatches.

That's very interesting to me and I wish someone would ask him about it, since he's always been one of the most visible and influential of Apple supporters for over a decade. To me it seems like a glaring omission and negative commentary on the watch.

Because Apple is trying to downplay the whole smartwatch "geek" thing, and Raj is one of the geekiest stereotypical characters on the show, on the most watched, popular sitcom in the world. The fact that it's a black Space watch makes it even more stereotypically nerdy. People laugh at the character because he's such a geek. It only reinforces the negative image the general public has of the watch as opposed to say Charity Wakefield in the immediate example above. Character's like hers are going to expand the user base Apple has been targeting with their emphasis on luxury fashion.
I don't thing Apple is trying to play down the geek thing at all. In fact, just the opposite. Geeks are IN now. They're actually cool. Apple just wants their products in the hands of trend-makers and high visibility celebs. And Apple can push both the "geek chic" and luxury angles simultaneously. Neither one negates the other. Folks who like Kanye West are going to buy gold Apple Watches, even if Raj on Big Bang is wearing one. Heck, the only thing that gives me pause is knowing that Joy Behar is wearing one. :(

UGH.... perfect reason NOT to get one if that little twit has one!

I hear you, although to be fair, he also has some Ferraris that I probably wouldn't kick out of my garage. If anything, it shows that wealthy people are in to the Watch, at least for the moment.

there's hundreds of pictures of him not wearing it.

which begs the question as to why not, and also why when he did?

either he doesn't like it... which is strange (in my opinion!) or, he saw fit to use it on that occasion (i believe he was papped strolling with his ex. probably not a good time to get your phone out. when you have that much money you can probably buy a watch for that occasion and ignore it afterwards)

Guessing he wore one just to wear it, has the money and bought it because "why not."
I've seen more photos of him wearing 2 massive gold/diamond Rolex watches on his wrist. Must be nice, but it looks silly and very d0uchebaggy'ish, (Is that word? If not, it should be. ;) )

I thought it would be fun to collect all the celebrity and television sightings in one thread. (I couldn't find a similar thread despite search.) I know there have been early Edition sightings posted (Beyonce, Pharell, etc.) but as time goes by, more and more are noticed.
I'm rather surprised that I have seen so few.

Being out and about in WEHO, Silver Lake, Santa Monica et al, on a daily basis, the distinct absence of the underwhelming AW is in stark contrast to what Apple would love for us to believe.

I see them everywhere...

But perhaps it's your use of the word "underwhelming" that paints the real picture.

Yeah, my sister (who just bought a Watch a few weeks ago) lives in a condo on the Santa Monica Promenade and works at a salon on Main St., and she sees them all the time.

Only see TV sightings - mostly TV shows and interviews, someone on a news network like CNN, (Local news here, the anchor was wearing one - but I think it was off..which I guess makes sense)

I tend to notice watches since I am a big watch geek. Since June when I got mine, I have YET to see someone else in person - other than an Apple Store employee - wearing one.
