Hey,

Due to poor iPhone reception at the house I am considering buying one of those cell phone extender things. The one where you put an antenna on the roof or near a window and then have a base indoors that boosts the signal.

I was wondering if anyone has one of those, and if so does it help a lot?

I am also wondering what frequency to get (typically I see them in 800 or 1900mhz frequencies, with dual band ones costing an arm and a leg, so I'd rather buy the one frequency that will give me the most benefit).

I am also considering the Microcell from AT&T once it comes to my area (Chicago), but my concern with that is if I ever change providers (if god willing Verizon or T-Mobile get the iPhone) I would have to start from scratch. And of course since other people in the house have other providers as well, maybe having a generic one in place would be a boost to them as well.

Any input will be appreciated!
