I have recently got a new series 7 apple watch and added my cellular plan. But every time i leave my phone at home and just have my watch it has disconnected from the cellular plan and the only way to get it reconnected is to restart the watch. This is becomming a pain, any ideas anyone? I dont have power saving mode on either. TIA 😊

Who is your carrier? Make sure they have your watch number sync'd with your cell number.

Im with O2 in the UK and i have spoken to them and they have reset the watch esim to make sure it was clean and connected to my mobile number. It just keeps disconnecting itself for some reason. Iv tried all kinds of resets and removing and unpairing etc but when i restart the watch it connects fine again but then disconnects after a while. Its really puzzling me?

I have exactly the same issue, which I've called O2 out on several times.

They've basically stopped responding to me, so I've asked for my PAC code and will be heading back to EE.

It does make me think its an O2 problem but i didnt have the issue with my apple watch series 6?

It's all very odd. My wife has an identical Series 6 cellular watch to me and we're both on the O2 network.

During my troubleshooting, I wanted to see if she encountered the same issues as me, so we enrolled her on to an O2 Apple Watch data plan. This kicked up an error but O2 resolved this after a couple of days and the watch then behaved exactly as mine used to - it would automatically jump to cellular once out of range of wifi and her phone, and would jump back to wifi/her phone once back within range - no rebooting necessary.

I agree it must surely be an O2 problem. They clearly have little idea of what's happening and I'd dare say they've internally rationalised that Apple Watch cellular customers make up a very small proportion of their customer base, so it's more a case of managing dissatisfaction right now.

Strange things now is, whilst im at home it holds the cellular connection no problem but as soon as i leave home whether i have my phone or not the cellular connection goes to “No Connection” Hoping when the new update comes out it might make things more stable 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
