As a runner I love it. I also enjoy leaving my phone at home when I’m out shorter stints. For me it’s totally worth the cost both initially and per month, I use it almost every single day. I miss roaming, and a bit longer battery life when on LTE.

Interesting to hear that. Nice to be able to leave your phone at home at times. Well that is what I think.
Yeah, I stopped running with my iPhone back when I started using the Plus iPhones. So nice to use the watch instead.

From a safety perspective, you probably should have something with you. You never know when you might need to call for help. I always think if I have a heart attack or get hit by a car at least my wife can come find me.

I really only wear my S4 Nike Edition when I run so I did not buy the cellular version. I simply don't want to be interrupted but it will ring if I'm within wifi connection and I can answer it on the watch.

I have a cellular watch and used to have the cell plan active but don't right now. I like having the option to turn it back on, but the reality is that I very rarely go out without my phone (pretty much just when running) so it was more for peace of mind than anything else.

I have the cellular version and still debating on getting activated. Verizon wants to charge me one time $40 for the so call activation fee 🤬

Yes. Thoughtful thinking. This is why when I got 2 Apple Watches this year (one for myself and one for my dad), I went cellular on both devices. You can never be too careful.

If you are the type of person who ALWYAS carry your iPhone, then I think you might be able to get away going non-cellular. But for those of us who sometimes "forget" to carry ours, then I think cellular is a must. It really depends on your electronics habits.
