iPad Pro Cellular reception compared to iPhone

I‘m in an area with weak cellular reception.

Are the signals on a iPad Pro 11“ (bigger antennas) better as on on iPhone XR?

I have the newest 12.9 and the older iPhone X. I live in San Jose, Ca but travel full time for work and depend on cellular data. My iPP seems to get a better (as in faster) connection on LTE Than my iPhone X. I’m guessing the chipset is better? In all honesty it‘s not a noticeable difference unless i check it with the speed test app.
