I just ran into a costly bug today that drained more than half of my cellular bandwidth for the month. I had set the cellular switch to off for a streaming video app. When I don't have wifi, the app would tell me that no internet access is available and I can't use it. But, today, the app just continued on the cellular network, even though the switch was clearly set to off! When I finally noticed it was on the cellular network, I was able to make the switch function correctly only by switching it off and back on again. The app and switch now behave as expected. Has anyone else experienced this? It really sucks that it's drained much of my monthly bandwidth. I've flipped all my switches to make sure no other apps will do the same and want to warn others of this potential problem.

I noticed a few Apps updated while on cellular when I have Cellular data turned off in Itunes & App Store.

I ran into this about 2 years ago. Netflix as always set to wifi only. Late at night one night I received texts from AT&T about my data allowance. It turned out that Apple's iOS WiFi Assist was issue.

I have noticed Amazon's Prime Video app does weird things. You can turn off cellular within the app, but that doesn't always hold true for iOS settings.
