My wife got me the 5 with cellular but I haven't activated it yet. I work on the road a lot and wanted to activate it but was wondering if there is an extra charge to hook up the cellular? Working with my hands Iv had the band come off a couple of times and want the option to find it in the event I lose it.

Yah, at least in the us, everyone charges for it. That being said, the band shouldn’t be coming undone. If it’s an Apple made band, make sure you have it installed correctly. If it’s a third party band, also make sure it is installed correctly but it could also possibly just be built poorly.

I’ve had an Apple Watch since series 2 came out and mine has never fallen off.

Thanks for the replies. The band isn't coming off the watch, it just gets caught on parts of the machine Im working on. I feel it when it happens, I just get worried that one day Ill not notice.

As an alternative to prevent your problem, I recommend trying a sports-loop. They don't drop of easily, since you have to put your hand through it. They are also easy to loosen and push up your arm and out of the way, without taking it off.

Are you SURE you have the band installed correctly? There isn’t much to catch on machinery when installed correctly (see photo):

Depending on the machinery you're working on, you probably shouldn't be wearing rings or watches while using them. I've seen some pretty gruesome injuries result. Probably not an issue with the band you're using because it sounds like the band is pretty weak. A band that doesn't break off though will bring your hand wherever it's being pulled.
