Why wouldn’t you put a screen protector on as soon as you unpack the phone?
Nah, not my cup of tea. Don’t like the look and the sensitivity of the screen takes a hit. I’ve used them before and without question, the screen wasn’t as responsive. It wasn’t a major difference, but enough of an annoyance for me.

You must have used a crappy screen protector then because there’s no change in sensitivity with a good one.

It’s a subjective thing, as in what may be responding perfectly normal for you after installing the screen protector may not be exactly quite the same to the OP and others. Everyone has their own OCD levels. Personally I find absolutely no response difference using my glass screen protector and before installing it.

I questioned myself if I should bother posting anything at all. This, along with a few other replies in this thread reassure me of my predictions.
Your questions are absolutely valid. I wasn’t trying to cut into you. With posts such as yours, people search for answers and learn from reading what others have to offer. Since it’s a forum on the internet, one needs to weed out fiction and deduce to the facts. It’s just the nature of it. Have a pleasant day/evening 😊

Because of OP's interpretation of 'tough glass'.
I lay the blame 100% at the door of Apple because "tough" is too vague a term that means different things to different people. Apple meant "better shatter-resistance" and should have said exactly that, because the tradeoff of better shatter-resistance is glass that is LESS scratch-resistant, so less "tough" in that regard.

Last night I cleaned my wife's iPhone 14 Pro Max screen and I noticed plenty of tiny scratches. We use our phones without any shields or bumpers, and she keeps it in her bag, away from her keys or other items. Nevertheless the screen is full of scratches (mainly notable under a direct source of light).

Checked my pants for anything that could have potentially caused the scratch and nothing presents itself.
Sorry to sound harsh but these kind of posts always annoy me. SOMETHING abrasive scratched your screen, it didn't just appear due to itself, there isn't a problem with the screen, and its not the fault of Apple. At some point you have introduced something abrasive to your phone and now you have to live with a nice scratch. End of story. It could have been the zipper of a jacket, a metal tab on your jeans, keys, coins, fragment of glass. This goes for every possession you own.

‘Sorry but you scratched your screen. It happens. Not a huge number of posts in this forum about scratching their screen so it is not a huge conspiracy here. You scratched your screen and you are upset about it. We understand.

Nope. Reread my post(s).

Appreciate it. Nobody has really answered my question from the get-go. It was a simple matter to be honest and I was curious if anyone had a similar experience.

Thanks for the response, but based on some other responses after yours, I’ll just simply go back to lurking on this forum unless I have an extremely urgent or serious issue. Cheers.

I love ceramic shield. I no longer use screen protectors on my iphone as the display is so scratch resistant for me which is great. Even after a year I never had a single mark on my display.

Agree 100%. My 13PM screen was perfect after a year and I would never use any type of screen protector. The Ceramic Shield has performed great for me.

In my experience the screen on the 13 Pro and 14 Pro are much more prone to scratching than the previous few generations. My 13 picked up scratches relatively quickly and I have noticed a small one on my new 14Pro already. You only really notice them when the screen is off so not a big deal but for someone who has never shattered an iphone screen I'd probably favour scratch resistance over dropability personally.
