Brilliant idea building this into a keychain, thank god people never misplace and/or lose those things! :)

I bet that you can also move your iPhone around to locate the missing key fob, just as you move your key fob away from your iPhone to trigger the alerts.

Or you could clip the thing to your man purse, sorry, messenger bag, and have that trigger either by your iPhone moving away or your "messenger bag."

Not trying to be snarky, just pointing out the obvious here.

In "child mode" would I have to clip the unit on my kid and my phone would sound the alarm? Think I just answered my own question since other then my kid carrying my phone (which I'm sure wouldn't be the case) there is no other option. Lol.

I've had iPhones since the 3 first came out and have only "forgotten" or "left" my phone once....ONCE. It was in a cab and this wouldn't have helped anyway as it was driving off.

I dig the child walking away thing, but why the hell would a child young enough you'd be worried have an iPhone?

I'd be interest in these once the prices come down, seems like a fun gadget to help not lose your gadgets.

Now if only I could remember where I left my keys ...

I believe that you clip the device onto the child, and the App on the phone would alert you.

Could this be left in the car or under a motorbike seat (in close proximity to the house/office) as a suppliment to an alarm? So if someone tries to pick my bike up to load it into a van my phone will alert me? If so, I'll need to look into this more closely.

In "Motion Mode" You'd be alerted if there were motion, so yes, the bike scenario would work, but leaving it in a car, you'd probably not be notified until the car has already started moving, in which case, too late. lol

The Kensington Proximo looks like the better alternative - the batteries last longer for one.
