Schalge is a great brand. I have one of their older locks on my door... This looks awesome.

I exclusively used Schlage locksets for the properties that I owned and was responsible for years ago. Back 'in the day', their locksets were the best. Their 'F' series was solid, and worked flawlessly.

Today's Schlage locksets are rather cheesy, and like everything else, their quality isn't what it was.

I switched to Arrow locksets a few years ago. They are more 'commercial' in their construction, and are easy to install and solid. They can accept Best and Medico cores too, making them resistant to being 'bumped' in the case of the later cores.

There are many more outright dirt cheap junk locksets on the market, and some that are ill thought out and so easy to compromise to be just slightly better than not having a lockset at all.

It's a shame. Schlage was a good brand.

I have begun looking at the VingCard Elsafe line. I don't believe that they have a model that will work with the 6 or 6+, and they might be overkill for a small homeowner. They do offer keypad locks as well.

I did stay at a Disney property where they used these locksets, and was impressed with how easy and elegant the solution was.

Does anyone know if you'll be able to use HomeKit, a Schlage app, or anything else to be able to remotely lock or unlock this device?

Two examples:
1. You just laid down in bed (2 story home) and check the lock and low and behold, you forgot to lock it. Can you use HomeKit, a Schlage app or anything else to give a command to lock the deadbolt?

2. You leave for work and know you forgot to look the door. Can you use HomeKit, a Schlage app or anything else to give a command to lock the deadbolt?

Just looking for someone with info to be able to confirm or deny this capability.

Thanks in advance.

We're getting there... there will be a lot of baby steps along the way.

Location services will get better, recognition services will get better. It will be a lot of small steps that nobody will say is revolutionary, until we get to an automated door in 20 years where it recognizes your heart beat, eyes, fingerprints, heat signature, etc. etc.

Exactly.
