I know most will disagree, but I prefer round watches and wish Apple would make one.

Sure, from a UI perspective a square face makes more sense, but personally I find Apple watches not very attractive.
Agree! Not one for fancy jewelry but do like sportswear equipment that can stand up to day to day activities. If 8 doesn’t offer a sports model with decent battery life this watch will be the way I go.

I also think a round shape is less prone to hitting against something. The glass corners of an Apple Watch are more exposed in this regard. Often sports watches have recessed glass with a stainless steel bezel surrounding it. Whereas the Apple Watch glass sits on top to accommodate swiping.

My AW has been dusted off and saved from recycling due to 1 feature above all others: quick unlocking my phone while wearing a mask. It has saved me so much time - and I still get well over a day of regular use out of it because it is mostly ignored and forgotten otherwise, which is the biggest con: other than the time saved unlocking my phone, it is less useful *to me* than the Casio Databank I had back in JHS.
