Carplay already does this. It drops a pin where you leave your car so you can find your way back.Next up, this brand new car now supports Find My Car - in case you lost it in the giant Walmart's parking lot.
I don't think the idea is to "hide" the AirTag. You would want it to be visible so that if found, someone can identify the owner by tapping the AirTag. (I know, I know... many people consider the AirTag for anti-theft or a theft deterrent, but it seems clear Apple created the product for lost items.)Buy a $25 tag and hide it in any backpack.
Well the people stealing could just empty the content in another backpack... so it is as good as tossing the airtag away.Targus said the built-in tracker is "highly integrated" into the backpack, whereas an AirTag could be taken out of the backpack and tossed away if stolen. The backpack comes with a replaceable battery for the tracker that is rechargeable via USB.
will be available in spring or summer 2022
That is the point of the AirTag product.I thought the whole point of AirTag was that could attach it to an item of your choice? I mean, what if you decide to get a new backpack and continue to need FindMy functionality - you would just literally attach the AirTag to the new bag.
Stupid product.
