Wow, a brick you attach to the wall and call a doorbell! Smart doorbells are a rather stupid idea in reality. They might catch a few really stupid people doing questionable things, but even a somewhat smart thief will simply smash it to smithereens, or just steal it too! It is much better to place surveillance cameras up higher and out of reach.

The Logitech Circle View Doorbell is cheaper, has night vision, and just a few less degrees of field of view. Most people have entryways that can't use the extra field of view anyway.

It seems I am the only one that wants this, happy for a slightly bigger device if it performs better than Ring. It seems like the backplate is the connector.

No pre-order for the UK but I'm watching this one closely!

I can’t wait for a complete review of this product. Though not perfect, it has what I want in a doorbell, especially secure video.
however, my experience with Wemo is not good: I had to replace 3 smart plugs because they wouldn’t stay connected. The replacements, same locations, have not disconnected in months.
my hope is that it does perform well and not be just another Wemo piece if junk.

Why do you think this one is any better than the one Logitech launched last year? Just the thread support?

That is the ugliest thing I have ever seen no way would I have this mounted on the house they dropped the ball on this one.

Seems like an invitation for someone to rip it off, too. I'm looking for one for my storefront, but this thing would be an open invitation for the nighttime crawlers.

It really not that much bigger than the Simplisafe Video Pro (4.35 x 1.35 x 1.12 inches) but yeah it's chunky. But the 24V wiring is a good thing in my book, especially for colder weather climates that'll kill a battery quick, gimme wired power any day.

I had that thought too. The only reason I haven't purchased the Logitech circle view bell is all the reports of shutting down in heat. My doorbell gets a ton of sunlight. If this thing doesn't have that issue, it's an instant buy for me.

Yeah, we’re planning on installing the Logitech Circle View ourselves (need to upgrade our transformer fist) but our front door faces west, getting a lot of sun in the afternoons, so it likely won’t be the solution we need.

I prefer my slim Lorex units I picked up on Black Friday for $99 each with no recurring extortion fee. Supports multiple simultaneous RTSP streams for NVR and third party integration, including HomeKit via Homebridge.
