Satechi today introduced two new Qi2 charging options, including the 3-in-1 Foldable Qi2 Wireless Charging Stand and 2-in-1 Foldable Qi2 Wireless Charging Stand. With next-generation Qi2 charging technology, Satechi's chargers are able to charge MagSafe iPhones at up to 15W, the same as official MagSafe chargers from Apple.

The 3-in-1 stand from Satechi also includes a 5W Apple Watch charger and a 5W wireless charger that's designed for the AirPods, while the 2-in-1 stand has a spot for charging the AirPods. Both chargers feature a vegan leather base, an aluminum housing, and a soft silicone charging puck, and they are able to fold down for travel when not in use.

Satechi's 3-in-1 stand is able to provide fast-charging capabilities for the Apple Watch Series 7 and later, plus it comes with a 45W USB-C power adapter. Qi2 uses the same magnetic power profile as MagSafe, so these stands work like MagSafe stands without the 7.5W limitation of the prior Qi standard.

The 3-in-1 Foldable Qi2 Wireless Charging Stand will be priced at $130, while the 2-in-1 Foldable Qi2 Wireless Charging Stand will be priced at $80. Both chargers are set to launch in the second quarter of 2024.

Satechi today also announced the launch of the SM1 Slim Mechanical Backlit Bluetooth Keyboard, the company's first mechanical keyboard option. It is compatible with the Mac, and it is priced at $100.

This looks like it has it all:
  • 15W iPhone charging
  • Night Vision orientation compatible
  • 5W Apple Watch fast charging
  • 5W AirPods charging
  • $80-130, but includes power adapter and Satechi products are often discounted
  • Clean design with subtle charging indicator light

Considering how not complicated these devices are it's absolutely insane they cost this much.
If you buy/can afford a $1000+ iPhone, an Apple Watch for $400+ and possibly some AirPods Pro then why not charge $130 for this stand?
It's the exact same reason why Apple charges like what, $699 for 4 wheels for your Mac Pro.
It's all relative...

I never seem to charge my devices all at the same time. I would rather have a device that accepts a phone puck and watch puck I already own

Qi2 is a new open standard. It's crazy that these 3-in-1 stands are still $130
$20 (45W charger) + $20 (15W Qi2 charger) + $10 (5W Qi charger) + $30 (5W Apple Watch fast charger) = $80. You are paying $50 premium for an integrated solution with a nicer design. It's ultimately up to you to decide whether that premium is worth it, but for a device that I rely on often, I can justify paying that sum for a nicer design and from a brand that I trust. It's also worth noting that Satechi frequently offers 15-25% discount coupon.

I know people will be unhappy with the price but as others have pointed out, it’s all relative and there are plenty of cheaper options made of cheaper materials from untrusted manufacturers. I’m happy to see this and compared to the MagSafe duo it’s a huge upgrade from plastic to aluminum and an additional charging spot, all for the same price.

"I already spent money so I should spend more money" is a weak justification for how expensive these stands are. Most of them even reuse the watch puck instead of supplying their own build.

I really liked the Satechi bluetooth keyboard that I had previously, so I'd be willing to give this mechanical one a try. I generally think they make pretty good products; the ones that I've used from them have not given me any trouble. I wish I would have gotten one of their universal vertical laptop stands before they stopped making them.

Just bought the Mechanical Keyboard!! Can’t wait. Will definitely pick this up when it launches later this year.

Satechi runs my entire office.

But the point I'm making is that people said MagSafe chargers were a lot more expensive because it was proprietary technology. But now that Qi2 chargers are being announced, they're no cheaper.

Every time I see an ad like this I just get angry that I cant set standby to NOT dim. Such a great feature, and with these chargers it can potentially eliminate the need for a nightstand clock. Set it up, swipe through to find the things I want on screen. Then ........whomp whomp, screen dims. Damn it

Perhaps it's due to Apple Watch charger, which isn't Qi2? 2-in-1 charger without Apple Watch costs $80, which is decent when you consider that power adapter is included. Satechi's otherwise identical Qi(1) 3-in-1 charger costs $120, so $10 premium for Qi2 isn't so bad.

I am guessing in few months, there will be a slew of no name 2-in-1 Qi2 chargers well under $50.

Another good product from Satechi. The wireless charger looks good and is cheaper than some of the other chargers in the market.

Products are sold at a price the market will bare, not the sum of the BOM.

The thing with those magnetic chargers is that even if they look nice on renderings they're more or less useless if someone uses a case with his iPhone, which most people do. The phones either fall off the magnet or don't charge reliably.

You might be using the wrong case?

Looks clean, compact, and elegant. I like it. It's not strictly necessary for me, because separate charging cables already do a similar job on my desk. But it's so much nicer to have it all combined. And this design doesn't waste a bunch of space. Maybe something for Black Friday 2024 :)
