I had to provide a password to allow it to connect for software updates. After updating I disabled WiFi thinking that would be the end of it.

In your Sony Bravia, go to Settings > Network & Internet, select your current Wi-Fi network, and choose the "Forget Network" option. That should do it.

If it still doesn’t work, reset your Sony Bravia. That should remove the saved password. (And the updated OS version shouldn’t be reverted)

You: "Play the scene where Neo goes out the window to escape the office."

Gemini: "Now playing Nemo going out the window to escape the dentist office from Finding Nemo."

After updating my Samsung TV to a new version of Tyzen, the internet connection just went crazy. Now, if you are using YouTube for example, it disconnect randomly and that's all, the circle of charging appears.

Now, you want me to install Gemini in a system that barley can work itself? Because that Tyzen is really laggy, I can't imagine how Gemini will work with these TVs. I'm using a Fire stick that sadly is only 1080p so the image is not optimal (the TV is 4K).

Lesson learned. Never update your TV, never connect it to the internet. My TV was working fine but Samsung doesn't wants to delivery a good experience so they send an update to **** your TV so you update to a better one.

Sorry for this rant. Yesterday I tried to factory restart the TV to see if the connection problem was solved but nope so, I'm a little angry

In the time I say this I will have already picked up the remote and adjusted ...

No thank you, don't need "AI" on my TV.
Either you talk really really slow or you pick up your remote and navigate menus really fast.
I timed how long it takes for me to say those sentences and it's around 2 seconds.
Even if you already have your remote in your hand (it can take time just to find it...) it takes much longer than that to navigate a settings menu for anything that hasn't got a dedicated button like volume.

Tyzen is notoriously terrible. Samsung won’t add Gemini to your TV; this is going to Google TV devices.

Also, I don’t know what your financial resources are, but consider switching to Apple TV. Or, if you wouldn’t mind Google TV, the onn 4K Pro Streaming Device would be good and affordable. Doing anything to stop using the weak internal CPUs in most smart TVs will improve your experiences.

Edit: If you care about privacy (in the sense that you don't want to be tracked with what you watch), an Apple TV is the best option. Then a Google TV device would likely be the 2nd least intrusive (which isn't saying much). After that the rest are very intrusive in their tracking. Roku has a great interface, in my opinion, but they've gone all-in on tracking everything you're watching on the screen. Amazon Fire TV is the same way, but an inferior interface. Google TV is also tracking everything (and they know more about you in general than the others, although Amazon isn't far behind) but if not an Apple TV, I'd recommend something running Google TV.

Definitely the way to go. My new Sony has Google TV functionality and every time I happen to bump into it when my kids mess with the stock remote, I’m continually baffled that some people use the internal offering to access content. It’s such a frustrating experience 😂

Does it supports multi user profiles?
If so, does the Google Photos app switches libraries when the user profile is changed?

I’m still confused. Why do you need software updates if you’re not using the smart TV section of your Sony? I also have a Sony (perhaps it’s newer than yours?) with Google TV. It allowed me to set up the device as a traditional “dumb” TV and to “forget”my wifi network entirely.

If Apple ever offers Safari browser for the Apple TV 4K it will considered “innovative”.

Apple could simply add Audio-pass-thru, DTS and Safari support and call it a day. No one cares about all the other junk you are trying to build for last few years..

Adjusting the image or sound from a HDMI connection is difficult if not impossible for many displays. The future Apple TV could change the image or sound data going to the display but that would create other problems. Communication to the display is limited in the HDMI specification. As for editing images on my TV, no thanks. On the other hand, being able to identify an actor in the scene or find out if they are still alive would be a help.
I still have an iTunes server running and look forward to better access to my music library. To echo other comments I hope the music access software is improved. Waiting almost a year now for the new Apple TV that is coming "Real Soon Now". My old Apple TV died and since one was coming RSN I have delayed replacing it with the current model.

AI Upscaling.
Agreed. I’d be more interested in the things that nvidia can do for gaming such as upscaling as you mention and maybe extra frame generation etc

(although anyone working in tv film post production has probably face palmer themselves on reading what I just wrote).

Nvidia added AI upscaling to their Shield TV almost 7 years ago. I think Apple can manage to do it if they wanted to.

You can connect an Apple TV to a smart TV as well 🙄
Yeah I know and I have. But I feel like some of that smart stuff is added onto the price. It’s more that the updates can break a TV at some point. Had issues with updates on a Bravia there for awhile.

Fair enough. From what I’ve seen and bought, the prices weren’t any different. I know some TVs require an internet connection at initial boot, those are the bad ones.

Cannot wait til my toaster can design a logo for me.
"My wife asked me why I was holding a gun in the kitchen. I told her it was to kill any Decepticons in the room. She laughed, I laughed, the toaster laughed, I shot the toaster. It was a good time."

Samsung has a partnetship with Google with the AI. I wouldn't say that is impossible to see Gemini in Tyzen but I guess that will only be in the flagship models.

And sure, we have an Apple TV in the living room and works beautiful and I also think that it is the best way to see streaming content. We only use the Android TV inside the TV (a Xiaomi) because you can install Magis (Arrrr!). I'm with you about the second choice, Google TV. The problem here is that I wasn't aware that Google just killed the Google TV device for a one called Google TV Streamer that is more expensive and if you live in a third world country, that expensive is just too much to justify a purchase. I would probably just look fo a second hand Google TV and thats all.
