The 11" Macbook Air was physically an "iPad replacement." :D It's a really neat laptop, so compact that you won't mind carrying it instead of a tablet. One with retina screen and less bezel would make the laptop more compact. Would be a really nice ultra portable. However, I don't think Apple would do it as Apple tend to prefer full size keyboard.
The 11 inch iPP/iPad Air has the Magic keyboard so I'm hoping Apple won't mind going for a smaller keyboard if they are to revive the 11 inch MBA.

I'd love something the same size as the 11" MBA again. Nothing smaller than that though! I have an 11" iPad Pro with the MKB and feel that keyboard is rather cramped.

I would really love that but I think the most realistic scenario is for Apple to release a more lightweight MBA with reduced bezels that remains 13 inches. They could absolutely do that with a similar weight to the rMB12 or 11 inch model.. and if they did, I would buy one the very first day it was available!

In terms of dimensions, the current 13" M1 Air is only about 1 inch wider (deeper) than the old 11" Air was. Length and height were about the same.

Almost the same footprint but almost 2 inches more in screen size due to the smaller bezels.

Was really hoping for a tiny 12" bezel free Air this generation, but the fact is as long as the iPad exists such a device won't ever be made as there's too much overlap.

13", MAYBE 12" is just about the smallest size you can go before the overall experience is compromising for the sake of being small, in my opinion.

Overall = battery life, keyboard, screen size, thermals, performance
