Hello,

So I've been experimenting with changing dock colours and editing the PNG files. But I can't seem to find the image for the 2D dock background. I've found the images for the bezel and the corners, but I have no idea where the black fill is. Does anyone know?

Thanks!

As far as I know the black fill is generated by the Dock program itself, meaning there is no way to change it. It's possible to make it go away by making a separator image that is very wide (like basically making it the Dock image you want) but it's tricky to get it right...

Look at these for inspiration:

They work in 10.6, 10.7 & 10.8.

Do you know...

So if it's generated by the Dock.app itself, what's the file for that generation and where is it located?
