I ordered an Apple Watch 5 for my wife and purchased AppleCare+ upfront. After reading about the monthly installment option for $3.99/month, for as long as I want or when Apple stops supporting the device, I think the monthly option is better. Is it possible, without much difficulty to switch. Or should I just cancel the order and place a new one?

very easy. Well.
I am pretty sure you cannot just return apple care.
Tell the specialist that what you want to do.
Return the item as unopened that way it returns it to inventory and it can be resold. Then repurchase it with the monthly.

Or return it and start over again.

Either way it will need to be erased and find my device turned off.

So I have just had a look at the Apple website and in the UK it seems like we can only select a one off payment for AppleCare and nothing about monthly instalments?
