The default Birthdays calendar under "Other" in the Calendars section of the Calendar app is currently green for me... yet I can't remember how I changed it. I've tried on my iPhone, on the desktop app, and on iCloud.com, but no luck. Maybe it can no longer be changed and I'm stuck with the color currently set for it?

If anyone knows how, please reply. Thanks.

You can't.

Support note is for iCloud, but, basically same.

I keep my own birthday calendar. Gives me flexibility to assign colors, who makes the cut, custom alerts (eg. Ping me a week in advance to order flowers, get a card, gift, etc).

Huh. I wonder why Apple doesn't allow for this. And that's a smart decision, NoBoMac. Although, I do like how iOS tells me the age of the person in birthday notifications.

Also, if you go to Settings > Calendar > Default Alert Times, there is a preference for birthday alerts. I, too, have mine set to a week in advance to give me time to get gifts, but I wish I could set multiple alerts (one for advance notice, and one for day of). Maybe someday.

Correct, and why I have my own birthday calendar. Same situation re: alert one week out, second day off.

Oh And: and also one reason why I have my own Holidays calendar.
