Change Carrier Logo Without JB

Give me your carrier version + carrier in a PM and I'll help you with it.

If anyone else needs to deal with that I can help you as well. I have nothing better to do.

this is how I feel atm:
Image

I don't get the reference. I don't like LotR series. I sat thoroughly the 1st hour of the 1st movie and found it to be boring. Never watched the rest.

I am sorry. While I can feel your pain, I am not going to be able to help you. I have pledged to not upload IPCC files to this thread. It is not because I am any sort of control freak or trying to be mean. I am doing it to keep this thread clean, orderly and easy to understand. Could you imagine the nightmare of trying to fill IPCC requests of several people of various carriers around the world? Different version numbers? Trying to field the requests for unsupported carriers. And then having to browse this thread and having to sift through uploaded IPCC uploads! It is not as if IPCC files show us a thumbnail of what it is. Or even the confusion for newcomers to this feature. If people here are willing to take the time to edit images for carrier logos, it is reasonable to expect others to take the time to make their own IPCC files.

I think the uploading of IPCC files would do more harm than good for this thread, and I will not do them for people.

Take a look at this thread at another forum also doing carrier logos. They seem to be mostly filling IPCC requests... this thread burns my eyes trying to read through it... it is so cluttered.

http://www.ifans.com/forums/threads/how-to-change-carrier-logo-without-jailbreaking-requests.390080/

But, I can't stop other people here from doing IPCC requests. I have only pledged not to do them myself. I hope others will follow.

If you are in the RARE situation of running an unsupported version of OSX and can't use CarrierEditor, then I suggest using Bootcamp and dual boot Windows to use CustomCarrierLogo.

Or... if someone chooses to donate their time and energy and wants to field IPCC requests, then they should start another thread specifically for IPCC requests. I, however, will not be participating in that nightmare.

Dont Worry man i understand :)

My reference is meaning I aint got **** to come with.
Seriously, those series of movies are classic. You should learn to like them , lol.

These logos dont disappear with carrier updates. Verizon carrier version was 14.0 with 6.1. I switched logos and it became 14.1. Decided to go back to verizon logo and downgraded to 14.0 with carriereditor by using original ipcc file. The Verzion sent out 14.1 today, and somehow the logo I installed reappeared. Weird.

guess that must be what happened with mine. i had removed the logo previously when the carrier was 13.5, upgraded to 6.1 and it became 14.0. Still had the Verizon logo. Now 14.1 came out, and the Verizon logo disappeared again. Not sure how i'm supposed to get it back, since i don't have a 14.1 file with the logo LOL

can someone post their 14.1 ipcc file???

It's really weird. When I switch back to 14.0 and reboot, the verizon logo comes back, then pops up a message that says Verizon update has been made and my 14.1 logo comes back. Somehow the 14.1 logo I created does not get wiped out with the verizon 14.1 update. I even switched back to my original 13.3 file before I even made logo changes, and when Verizon sends the automatic 14.1 out, it uses the logo I created yesterday for the 14.0 version. I'm not about to restore as new. In fact I even did a restore from backup I made yesterday with 6.1 which had the verizon logo and the correct 14.0 ipcc file, yet the verizon 14.1 update restores my created logo. my guess when verizon sent out the 14.1 update it left their logo off. My guess is they will correct this.

weird. I never made a 14.1 file when i was on 14.0. Last time I changed it was on 13.5, so the updated file would have been 13.6

Same thing happened to me.

Here's something even more weird. I decided to change logos and thus the verizon version became 14.2. Now when in lock screen, the 14.1 logo I created appears, and when I unlock, the 14.2 logo appears. It stays that way until I reboot. Checking on other threads, those who did not do the carrier editor change, have the proper verizon logo when verizon updated to 14.1

I am a little anal about things. Before updating to iOS 6.1, I was thinking and relating this to how upgrades are done at work to not overwrite client/vendors modifications. I was afraid that whatever modified ipcc file I restored through iTunes... that it might grab existing data, modify it a little, and rename the version number (e.g. 13.0 to 14.0) when updating to iOS 6.1. Not sure if this is the cause of the missing delivered vendor carrier logo... but I made it a point to restore back to the original ipcc before updating to iOS 6.1. If this is the cause, I can see myself missing this step easily if another iOS update comes in the future. I think I'll be downloading zeppelin to change my logo's when the JB comes out... since it doesn't modify anything baseline delivered from Apple.

I updated to iOS 6.1 and want to change back to the Original Verizon Carrier Text. I have the the original IPCC file but when i do it in iTunes it put the iPhone 5 to carrier version: 13.0 and when I reset it its back to 14.1 with the same one before I changed it. HELP PLEASE!

You should have restored the original before the 6.1 update, but the the fix is right above your post.;)

Change Carrier Logo Without JB

I think this will work:
1)Restore my iPhone 5 to iOS 6.1
2)Do not restore from backup but copy the original IPCC file.
3) keep the original IPCC file and restore from back up then restore the Verizon IPCC file back onto the iPhone after the restore from backup.
Now it should say "Verizon"
Anyone think this will work or no?

Fixed it. Restored as new, and then used a backup to restore all my apps. Verizon logo now showing. Actually pretty simple.

Doesn't restoring from backup restore the modified IPCC file? Is the modified IPCC file included in the iCloud or local backup?

Can't someone email the Verizon file or is it special to one device?

I should have been a little more clear. I used a backup I had prior to changing the ipcc file. Sorry about that.

So restoring from backup after restoring the iPhone 5 puts an original IPCC file back on if the backup had a modified IPCC file?

From what it sounds like wxman2003 is saying is he restored his iPhone 5 with an older backup in iTunes... prior to changing his logos with modified ipcc files created through the carriereditor tool. I could be wrong, but if I'm reading it correctly, that sucks if someone doesn't have older backups. I hope I'm reading it wrong. I would have thought that restoring as a new phone alone would restore the original logo.

I like this method a lot, but I think use zeppelin to change my carrier logos after the JB comes out... just to be safe.

I didn't even know we can do this. A bulls logo would sure look great on my phone! OP deleted the video or something? How do I get started?

You can restore as new without a problem. The carrier logo will be verizon. But if you want to restore the phone to way you had it set up with all the settings, apps and music and such, the backup needs to be prior to the time period that you added new logos. That's what I discovered. I restored as new, and then used my current backup, and the wrong ipcc filed was used. Restored as new again, and then used an older backup and all was well.
