Is there any way possible to change th color of the iPhone? Swap out the housing? My space grey was stolen and replaced by a silver under insurance. I'd like to have my space grey color back..

Changing the case is a big deal. Changing the front is easy though. Change the front to black and have an OG iPhone look.

Why wouldn't they replace it with the same model? Can you ask them to change it?

I'd complain to the insurance company.
See if they can send you a replacement that is the same as what you had before.
Changing it yourself would be costly and can cause damage if you're not very careful taking it all apart.

Agreed. I would try and get your insurance company to switch it out to match what you had.

Unfortunately all the insurers that I've seen won't guarantee to match the colour.

If you are going to complain, I'd mention that Space Grey seems to be the most common colour, so I can't see where the problem is in them sourcing one. Also, the fact that it's not just a colour, it's the whole bezel as well that is the opposite to what you had. Replacing a gold with silver or vice versa seems a more natural move.

Replacing the bezel would result in Touch iD being disfunctional. You would need to use the same Touch iD Sensor and I don't think you will want the one white button.

When I had to replace my 5s SG, the insurance company did not have any 64GB SG available for a couple of weeks. I just had to keep rechecking their website until I caught them in stock.

That's why it's always good to keep your previous model around as a back up phone and be patient until you can get want you want.

You can buy a housing and swap it out. I'm really tempted to do it on my wife's phone fora purple one, her favorite color. I don't have a shop or anything but I've changed various parts out of every iPhone since the 3GS for family and friends and even a few people online that trusted me. The 6 housing replacement doesn't look much more daunting than the 5s and I just did one of those. I may just get another phone locally and try on that one and give it to the wife and then sell hers. She really wants this

I think apple is all in with the white/gold/space gray color combination. I would love to see more or different colors. I hope they do bring a 6c to the table this year.
