Hi, when I drag and drop a file from one directory to another, the default behavior is to move it. but often I found that I want to file to be copied to the other directory buy keep the original one in the old directory. In order to do that I have to hold down the option key.
Is there a way to change this so that thee default will be copy rather then move?

Something like default write... perhaps?

Hold "option" while dragging and dropping.

EDIT: Oops. Just read your post carefully. I need my coffee. :p

AFAIK there's no way to make it default. And if you did, you'd wish the default was a "move" instead. However, the default is to copy when moving files from one drive to another, if that helps. Maybe there's a tweak to replicate this behaviour within the same drive.

Can't you just right click, copy then paste in new directory?
