When ordering the phone this morning it said pick-up at my local store was not available so I shipped to home. To avoid missing the delivery that day, is there a way now that I ordered to change it to pickup at store?

Shoot, I wanted to pick it up too. I'm picking up my watch at the store between 11 and 11:30am. Guess I'll just have it delivered. Hopefully they'll come in the morning, so I can go the apple store to pick up my watch.

You could do a request a hold for pick up at your local UPS CC or UPS Store.

Do you have prior experience with that? I was actually thinking about this option for local store but was not sure if this process works flawlessly

I did it once years ago and it took an extra day for it to arrive to the local UPS store and we didn’t get phone until Monday. Never again.

Yes, I have always done a request for pick up at my local UPS CC every launch day device and never had any issues. I've actually had no issues with the UPS Store and being able pick it up the same day. When you do the UPS Store pick up at the UPS.com, it does warn you that you are delaying the pick up date. However in most cases, I've heard that some did the UPS Store pick up and still was able to pick it up on launch day.

Personally I would do it at your local UPS CC if you leave close by or so.
