After updating to 10.11.4, iBooks uses Preview to open .pdfs. I'd like to change it back to Skim but that option is no longer in iBooks' preferences. Anyone else notice this? Any fixes? Thanks.

If you right click on a pdf and choose Get Info you can choose what app to use as the default. You then click the Change All button. Works for all file types, not just pdf.

Indeed, all my .pdf files are set that way. However, when I import the same files into iBooks they revert to opening with Preview. This began after the latest update. Apple wouldn't force me to use Preview, now would they? :p

Based on the complaints against the simplification of Pages (to make it compatible with the web version) and no fixes, it might be that iBooks will always use Preview going froward. You need to either find a replacement or an older copy of iBooks (like from a backup).
