What happens if I change my Mater Password on my Mac? I am the admin.
What affect will it have on things I have already setup with the current password ?
I know what my current password is but someone I know now knows it as well and I want to change it but first I want to know what will happen if I do?
Things like, will my keychain be affected?
also I have kid users setup with parental controls so will it affect what controls I have already setup for them with my old password?
    things like that.
    TIA

I do not believe anything will happen other than what the master password is meant to do. The master password can be used if any account has trouble logging in. After a couple of failed attempts, you can use the master password to create a new password for that account. This is obviously only necessary if no other administrator account can be accessed to reset the password. Resetting an account password is something you can also do from Recovery or via an Apple ID (if this was set up).

In addition, the master password is used for a separate keychain that contains a personal FileVault recovery key. If you set a master password before enabling FileVault, that keychain’s recovery key will be used. The master password itself is the key that allows you to modify hat keychain. Changing the master password won’t affect the function of this keychain.
