Change "new text message" ringer to custom ringers/sounds?

I searched...no real help...sorry in advance if I missed a previous thread.

I have the iphone 3G. Is there a way to add ringers/sounds to the phone somehow so you can change "new text message" sounds to something other than the default ones?

Not yet through regular means. Jailborking will allow it, just use at your own risk.

You need to jailbreak and then SSH into the iPhone.

it's actually really easy to do (once you jailbreak)
