    Hi,

I am going to give my Mac Mini to my brother but I don't want to reinstall everything, I mean, I want to give him a "new Mac" in sense that OS and apps remain unchanged.

Right now the login name / default home folder is my name. Can I just change my name to a new name? If so, can I do that?

    Many thanks.

You can only change the name of the Home folder by reinstalling the OS.

I'd recommend creating a new account in System Preferences. This will create a new home folder for that account. Test the account to make sure everything is working properly. Save any data from the original account and then delete it, also done in System Preferences.
