Anybody figure out a way to have Safari Push notifications use your default browser instead of opening in Safari?

Was hoping there was a defaults write or something to change that.

Easy...

Choosing a default web browser

Open Safari (/Applications).
From the Safari menu, choose Preferences.
Click the General button.
Choose your desired browser from the "Default web browser" pop-up menu.

Works like a charm ;)

And how does this effect clicking on the push notifications?

That's my point....I have Chrome as my default browser....but clicking on push notifications ALWAYS open in Safari.

Engineering politely told me that forcing Safari is intended behavior since you have to use Safari to setup push notifications.

So likely no chance in hell this gets changed.
