Hi guys so recently every time I open up Safari on my iPhone I’m hit with a pop up from Google asking me to download the Google app, I keep pressing no but every time I open up safari the same pop appears so I downloaded the app thinking that would stop aforementioned pop but NO I still have it and it’s annoyed me to the point I don’t want to use Google anymore so I’ve been into settings/safari/search engine and chose DuckDuckGo and tapped on safari and it’s still Google, tried yahoo search and still Google, switched my phone off and on STILL GOOGLE dies anybody know how to either get rid of the annoying Google app pop up or how to change safari Google search to one of the other options? P.s I have AdGuard activated on my phone but it doesn’t stop this crappy Google app pop up

You can block the Google popup on your Safari browser by tapping on the "Share" icon at the bottom of the screen and select Adguard > Block an element on this page.

Are you sure you aren't just loading up the google homepage? Changing the search in Safari settings will just change it when you type into the search bar at the bottom of Safar.

Holy crap that worked! Thank you ? I’ve seen my question raised on Google searches so I’ll go and pass this information on to them thank you so much ?

Glad to know that you've figured it out without my further assistance. ?.

Hi there, out of curiosity how do I change the homepage? I’ve had iPhones for years but always assumed the homepage was set my apple ?
On your iPhone, go to Settings > Safari > Search Engine > change it to any of the available search engines.
