I have already set Google as the default browser. In Safari's preference, the default browser is already listed as Google Chrome.

Despite this, whenever I use the "Search Google with" function in preview's contextual menu and the search still happens in Safari. The same goes for TextEdit. For these builtin Mac apps, is there any way to get them to use Chrome?

come on. anyone?

I've got the same problem. There is no easy way to fix it. But you can add a new shortcut to the contextual menu that works with your default browser. You can't remove the default one, only add this extra one at the bottom.

Info here.
