Change SSD from Mid 2013 to latest Macbook Air model.

Hi,

Long story short, my macbook air (13" Mid 2013) flooded with rain water and fried the logic board. I was thinking to buy a most low space spec of current Macbook Air 13" and just swapped with the previous SSD as both are PCI-e based SSD.

Can it be done? Is there anything that I missed that making this thought is impossible?
