I'd like to change the volume sound; I really dislike that "quack" when you adjust the volume. I've tried going into system/library/components/coreaudio/contents/resources and changing the "Media Keys" file (with the correct file format and same general length of 0:00) in both the SystemSounds folder and the CoreAudioAUUI.bundle, but after restarting there is no change. I have OS X 10.6.6. I'm not real slick at this, so any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

System Preferences -> Sound -> Sound Effects

Unselect "Play feedback when volume is clicked"

Thanks for the tip Ender. What I really wanted to do, though, was change the sound to something different, not take away the sound altogether.

Did you ever find a way to do this? I have changed to sound to emptying the trash but I can't find a way to do this for the media keys...
