Is there any way of changing the notification sound from Twitter? I want it to be different from my text message tone.

from my expierence all notifications weather its Facebook, Twitter, a sports score app it uses Tri-Tones so make your SMS something else,

i believe all notifications uses the new voicemail sound(tri-tone) so if your good at changing tones im pretty certain thats the tone you want to change for push notifications

the file location is /System/Library/Audio/UISounds/Voicemail.caf

If you are jailbroken you can get ToneFXs 2 (pro) in cydia and it will let you change the notification sound for any app.

You can also use Boxcar for your Twitter notifications and change the sound that way. Mine sounds like a bird chirping.

haha i had that too for a while, cant believe twitter didnt come out with that when they add push notifications, i like the ESPN app it gives that jingle like espn does when they have an update

Seriously, a jailbreak to change a sound? Sorry, not needed.

Click on Settings/sounds/tweet - use any sound you want.

Edit: didn't realize this was a year old thread.

Mac World. LOL

I want to change the NOTIFICATION sound when i RECEIVE a tweet from the default "Text-Tone" sound to a custom one.

For instance ESPN and some other apps have their own Notification sound but Facebook and twitter are the same "Text-tone" sound. So I want to change them.

And I Cant get FX2 pro cause it's not avail for iPhone 4s iOs 5 jailbroken phone.

Go to the app store and download an app called "Text Tones". You play the file you like then download it and email it to yourself.
Go to your email and open the sound file with ifile by holding down your finger on the file. Then hit cancel when the prompt comes up.

Now hit Edit, click the file (usually an m4r file) and click the bottom right folder icon to copy the file. Hit done. Hit the back button on the top left until you are back in the "var" folder. Scroll down to the "stash" folder, then "Library" and finaly "Ringtones". Click edit and then paste the file into this folder.
Now exit out of ifile and go back to Settings/sounds and your new sound will be there for you to use with twitter.

For facebook, you will have to use ifile, find the facebook folder and replace the stock sound with your custom one.

And one last thing. Twitter is baked into iOS. You can change the twitter sound to any of the stock or downloadable sounds in the app store, any time you want. Go to settings, then sounds, the scroll down to tweet and change your twitter tone to any, alert tone, ring tone, etc already on your phone. Point is, you were never stuck with the tri tone to begin with for twitter sounds.

Are you sure this is correct? I've tried changing the sound of an incoming tweet, but it always remains Tri-tone no matter what sound i select. If, however, I send a tweet using the integrated Twitter service (like tweeting a picture directly from the Pictures app or tweeting a link to a web page directly from Safari), it uses the Twitter sound as customized.

I have tried this as well and get the same result as IgnatiusTheKing.

Seems to be no easy way to change the incoming Tweet tone! (without Jail breaking or using some other app)

Errum, if you go to settings...and then sound.. You find there are a lot of sounds and ringtones that you can apply for different apps. The defaults are changeable, without having to download anything else . Unless of course you just want more variety

If you read what MacKid1983 said in the quote, he wants to change the notification tone when received, not the send tone. There is no option to change the incoming tone as of now (6.0.1).

You can only do that for the outgoing sound.
