Hi,

Throughout all the versions of OS X I've used, I've always changed folder view settings and it's never worked as I've wanted it.

What I want to do is change all the view settings for every folder on the computer to the ones I want, and then the very few that I want to appear differently, I'll change myself manually afterwards.

I'm looking at this article: http://macs.about.com/od/usingyourmac/ss/Setting-Finder-Views-For-Folders-And-Sub-Folders.htm#step4

And would like to know if this'll work well for Yosemite, or if maybe there's a better way now?

Any input appreciated!

With the View Options panel I believe you can set the default for every folder.

Thanks for your reply,

I have set the default settings in said panel, however it doesn't apply (or at least some of the settings) it to new folders when I navigate there. They're always set to "Arrange By None" instead of "Arrange By Kind" which is what I set in the default.

Maybe you could try and delete all .DS_Store files with Onyx.
