Changed Gmail password - now Mail can't connect

I changed my Google account password today.

Is that such a difficult concept? It is for Mail.
Once I changed my password to the correct one in Mail, it won't connect! I have triple checked that it is the correct password for ingoing and outgoing mail. Still says that the account it offline. I click, the little triangle next to the Inbox, but it won't connect!

GRRR I don't like Mail! Help me please.

Well, worst case scenario you could try going into mail preferences and removing your Gmail account then closing mail, then open mail and enter the new password.

Well I forgot to EDIT but I fixed it by upgrading to 10.5.5.
