Hello,
Wonder if someone can give me some advise. I am looking to ditch my google mail email account and solely use my iCloud email, Not normally a problem in its self except that when I originally started using iTunes moons ago I set it up using said gmail account. Now what happens if I deactivate that email, does my associated Apple ID and all the purchases disappear?

I understand that my iCloud email is already an Apple ID in its self so I can't just change my primary email on my existing account. Bit of a ball ache really.

Any help greatly appreciated

Mike

You can currently not change an Apple ID from a non-iCloud to an iCloud address. You can only change it to a different non-iCloud address. This is an annoying limitation that has been around for a long time.

Do not delete the email account that belongs to the address you use as Apple ID. You may lock yourself out and not be able to recover the iCloud account.
