I bought a used mac pro and booted it up. The first time it booted into Windows XP and worked without any issues.

I then clicked on boot camp and restarted into Max OS X. The mac restarted and nothing shows up on the monitor now. I am assuming there are some issues with the Max OS X install on this mac.

How do I restart it or switch back to windows xp? Is there a keyboard key combination or physical button sequence that I need to use on boot? (I currently have a PC USB, keyboard attached. )

Hold down option (or alt in the case of a windows keyboard) right when the Mac turns on. Start pressing and holding it when there is a blank white screen (no apple logo). Within a few seconds, bootable drives will appear and you can choose one using the arrow keys and then pressing enter.

Thanks .. I tried holding the ALT key down on startup and it did not work. Still don't see anything on the screen. The monitor isnt even coming on and looks like it is not receiving any signal.

Could it be that the driver for the keyboard isn't even being initialized for it to recognize the ALT being pressed ?

What else can I try ?
