Changing Device Left Behind Notifications Are Sent To

It’s probably because it’s late here, but I am having an issue. My AirPods Pro (First Gen) are telling me that they will only sound their lost alert to a device I no longer have. I’ve tried re-pairing them to the device I want them attached to but it still tells me the same thing, that the find my alerts will go to that device. This is even though I have removed the device from my iCloud

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
