Changing font in Mail

My sight is not as good as it was, and I need all of the help that I can get. I have recently gone back to using Mail after a long interval, and I am dismayed to find that the list of MailBoxes in the left-hand column is in a tiny font, and with very little contrast. The horizontal bar at the top, bearing the symbols for Get Messages, Compose, &c., is even harder to read. Is there any means of improving this ? I have attached a screen-capture in the hope that it may help.

You can increase it:

System Preferences, General, Sidebar icon size, change to large.

You may find other possibilities in System Prefs - accessibility too.

I feel the same why...apple has a preference for small fonts and everything in black and white.
