Hey all you MR'ers, here's a stumper for you. I have my drive partitioned as such:
[1] EFI
[2] Macintosh HD (HFS+)
[3] Linux Root (ext32)
[4] Linux Swap
I decided Linux isn't my thing, and wanted to go back to Windows. I deleted the two linux partitions, [3] and [4], and created a new NTFS partition in that space and installed Windows XP.
Upon booting into the new Windows partition, I got a corrupt/misplaced HAL.DLL error, which I understand is related to a corrupt partition map. (Among other things, but none which fit my case.)
The Boot Camp Assistant also cannot restore the volume to a single partition, since it "wasn't partitioned using Boot Camp."
I can't really wipe my drive, or even backup and wipe, since I have a lot of things installed under the hood, like MySQL, various Tomcat configurations, ANT libraries, etc. that would be near-impossible to re-configure again.
I'm no partition/drive expert, so I was hoping someone here would have run into the same prolem, and maybe has a solution? Or suggestions? Thanks!
Happy Holidays to all as well!
