I have an '06 Mac Pro and my Nvidia 7300 just sucks, so I'm looking to buy a new card. I saw this, which uses ATI Radeon 4870. How safe is this, and where can I use any Radeon card for this?

    I already saw this thread
    http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=877441

I'm just hesitant cause in that thread,

So I have no idea if something like
    http://cgi.ebay.com/Sapphire-Techno...eo_TV_Cards&hash=item335d8e709a#ht_500wt_1048
    will work.

That model you link to on ebay is the exact 4870 I put in my 2007 Mac Pro 1,1. I only had one problem with it and that had to do with dual DVI linking in a fresh install of Snow Leopard 10.6.3. I had to install pre-10.6.3 kernel extensions for it to run both monitors properly but after that it has worked flawlessly.
