Changing New Account activates 2 year plan?

When I bought my iphone 3g I was told by the AT&T rep that if I put my wife's SIM card in my iphone that her account would automatically be signed up for a new 2 year contract. Is that true?

Sorry, I dont know the answer to your question but I will say this......you could call 5 different times and get 5 different answers.

He tried to strike the fear of the ATT god into ya. You must sign a contract and inserting a sim doesn't require a signature.
