f I’m taking photos of family or children, I probably wouldn’t change the perspective afterward because that’s how I want the photo—and the memory—to be preserved. Still, it’s fun to experiment with these tools.

Here are two photos of my cat. One is the original, and the other has been edited using Apple Intelligence. Can you tell which one is which?

I only spent about a minute editing, but my iPhone 15 Pro Max noticeably warmed up during the process. I imagine the iPhone 17 Pro series will handle the workload and heat management better.

Whilst B is clearly the edited one, that doesn’t make Spatial reframing any more of an absolute game changer for mobile photography. The fact is generates the 3D models on-device (but needs the web for generative fill) is most impressive.

I spent hours playing with just this one feature last night, going back through photographs from 25 years ago to reframe and extend and the results were amazing.

Picture A is edited. B is original, taken with portrait mode. Apple should have released this feature 2 years ago. It is still impressing though.

Pic A looks edited, as the fake blur (created by portrait mode) isn't re-faked properly.

However, I only noticed it because you posted two photos and said one was edited, otherwise I wouldn't have paid enough attention to notice the edit.

I know Google have a similar feature but theirs just generates a couple of perspectives and lets you choose one. Having complete freedom is much better.
