I've being using different Mac laptops for a few years, but this weekend I decided to make the switch on desktop and go from my still fast but long in the tooth 2013 Windows PC to a Mac Mini M1. Don't worry, it's more than enough for me.

The thing is that with the laptops I'd never noticed that the Home and End keys in macOS don't behave as I'm used to in Windows. Maybe because those laptops don't have Home and End keys, who knows :)

I found this thread where @Marty_Macfly found the fix, but it doesn't seem to work in Ventura.

Has anybody tried it?

Thanks!

so what happens in Windows when you press “Home” that doesn’t happen under MacOS (same for “End”)?

I think trying to make a Mac work like Windows is going to lead to trouble. Embrace the differences!

Home brings you to the beginning of the current line. I’ve being using Command+Left arrow forever on the laptops, but I can’t get used to it on my full desktop keyboard.

There are lots of differences I like, but some of them are not for me. I have installed several utilities to make things behave as I want. Like Alttab so that I can jump between app windows and not only apps. Or MonitorControl to be able to change my monitor volume from my keyboard/mouse.

check out something like karabiner elements

Thanks! This seems promising.
