iPod touch Changing the iPod's serial number

I'm sure this question is constantly asked, but I have been very curious-

Is it possible to change a serial number on an iPod Touch, or any iPod for that matter? A friend of mine says he had this happen to him (someone "changed" it) but I have my doubts.

Triple no. The serial number can't be changed no matter what. The same should be true for your UDID unless you jailbreak it, but that would only work for local things like app licenses. Not at the Apple level like updates.
