Changing the search highlight colour in Preview

Hello

Does anybody know how to change the colour that Preview highlights text that has been searched in a PDF. At the minute its a paly grey and doesn't really stand out when I search it. I'm using Tiger 10.4.3 and version 3.0.3 of Preview.

I've looked in the preferences but i could just be being dumb.

Doesn't Preview have the same highlight colour as the system in general?

Change System Preferences -> Apperance -> Highlight Color and see if that does't affect Preview, too...

Edit: Just tested it and i works for me.

Thanks for your help but its not when I select the text with the Text tool, its when its highlighted from the search window.

E.g. if I search for 'Fish' it gives a list of the occurences of fish in the drawer, and then when you click on one it highlights the word in the text. This is when the pale grey is used and it is sometimes hard to pick out of a large body of text.

I can then use shift-tab to put the focus back to the document and then the text is highlighted in my preferred colour...

oh yeah. Thanks for your help. Dont see why it cant be in that colour anyway. Must be an oversight or just makes it harder to work

It's because the focus is on the search box or the drawer. But, yes I agree with you wholeheartedly, it should have highlighted the text better when you use the drawer...

I've got a similar problem, except some PDF docs won't highlight the word at all. It will show me which page the word is on only, so I have to hunt through if I want to find it. I've tested it and this doesn't happen on all my docs, one in particular won't highlight, maybe others too, but not sure. Is this a problem with that individual doc, do you think? Should I try delete and reinstall that doc, or is there something I can do in preview settings? Thanks in advance.
